How do I start? How about a brief bit about me and what I do?

I’m an artist, musician and Dj living in Sheffield UK.

I’ve always been a MASSIVE music fan who has an unhealthy interest in Retro movies and games (especially board games). Along side music my other passion is the visual arts and graphic design.  I design album and merch art work, T-shirts and also paint on canvas.

Since I turned 16 in 1996 I have caught the djing bug and currently play out under the name “BaronVonBadd” or “Baron“, specialising in Old school and experimental HipHop, LoFi Electronica and old school Heavy Metal.

Luckily over the years I’ve managed to meet a good number of talented people through projects, gigs and by accident. Im going to talk more about them in future posts but for now I’d like to give quick praise to a few important people:

If you live in a part of Sheffield called “Hunters Bar” you may of come across the divine greatness of a tech-guru company AFDIT. It is run by one of the most intelligent people I know, Anthony Fox-davis.  This guy is a major hub in Sheffield’s web and systems developement. AFDIT has personally helped out and provided fantastic platforms for many local businesses, bands and artists.  Thank you from everyone dude.

Fellow 7BT member and front man V3xation, we have worked on a few  projects together (7BT & Renegade Brass band) and im constantly blown away by his production skills and vocal kung fu (this guy is Sheffield’s finest and hardest working Mc!).

Another quick ”Big up!” (hahaha) is to the mighty Gordon Barker, fellow Cobra Fist Brother, always has his face in his laptop making crazy sounds and creating uber-experimental electronic music.  His collaborative work with Jack Orion is looking extremely promising. Check it out if you can.

Along side Djing I am also a member of a few Sheffield bands. I’m sure I will go more into detail about projects and groups I enjoy in Sheffield but for now if you get the time please check out these Sheffield based acts;

“The Legend Of The 7 Black Tentacles“ (Live experimental hiphop),

“Cobra Fist” (Loud, fast and heavy 8-bit retro Metal 3 piece),

and “The Renegade Brass Band” (8 piece funk/soul/hiphop band whom I’ve recently just started playing with).

I used to but no longer play in a group called “Skeletons and the empty pockets” (Rowdy bluesy heavy Indie-rock), cheers for the experience and the rocking guys and all the best in the future x.
